Did you know 3 out of 4 car seats are installed incorrectly? Before you install your car seat, be sure you know how to install one. Read the instructions that come with the carseat or you can also check YouTube. There are SO MANY videos out there on how to properly install any carseat or booster. Research tells us that safety belts and car seats are the most effective devices in preventing serious injuries and deaths in vehicle crashes. All 50 states and the District of Columbia have laws that require child seat use. Educating the public about proper car seat and restraint use are essential to preventing child passenger injuries and deaths. Suspected non-use is a valid basis to stop any motor vehicle. In Minnesota, three out of four child restraints are used incorrectly — meaning children are riding in the wrong restraint or it is not properly secured. If a seat belt is against the child’s neck, you do not have them in the correct seat or the safety seat is installed incorrectly. Do not let them put the shoulder strap behind their back. Out-of-position lap belts can cause serious injuries to the liver, spleen or intestines. Additionally, as a child’s upper body jack-knifes over a high-riding lap belt, the spine may pivot and fracture, resulting in paralysis. BEFORE YOU GO, KNOW! Buckle them in right and keep them safe! We are still looking for drivers!
This is the beginning of our busy season and we can use drivers and paras. Check out the apply tab, share it with friends and family. We'd love to hear from you and have you join our team!
